The 5th ISN Special Neurochemistry Conference

Call for proposals (Submission deadline: September 3, 2010)

The ISN (International Society for Neurochemistry)now invites submission of proposals for the organization of the Fifth ISN Special Neurochemistry Conference to be held in 2012. For this purpose the ISN will provide 150,000 USD to the organizers.

Note that proposals will be considered from bona fide individuals, institutions and learned societies, who do not need to be directly connected to ISN or its sister societies. Submissions addressing topical and emerging areas are encouraged, and the proposed area may relate to neurochemistry in its broader context within neuroscience.

In 2004 the ISN began a series of Special Neurochemistry Conferences. The first one took place in Avignon, France, and focused on “Changes in Neuronal Gene Expression and CNS Drug Responses”. The second on “Neural Glycomics and Lipidomics” was held in Antigua, West Indies, in 2006. The 3rd Special Conference entitled: “Neurodegeneration and Regeneration” was held in Beijing in 2008. The focus of the 4th Special Conference to be held in Erice, Sicily, in May 2010 is “Membrane Domains in CNS Physiology and Physiology”.

Proposals will be examined by the ISN Council, and a decision made based on the quality of the scientific program as well as the suitability of the proposed venue.

The Conference will:
·        be located in the American Region
·        be focused on an important and timely neurochemical topic
·        have a 3 day duration with no parallel sessions
·        not exceed 300 participants
·        not coincide in time with other major neuroscience meetings

Enquiries:
