2007 Elections for new ISN Secretary and Council Members
The procedures for the 2007 Elections for new ISN Secretary and Council Members were organized according to the standing rules and previous elections.
Before midnight of February 15, 2007 the ISN Secretary received one nomination for Secretary (Philip Beart, Australia), and 14 nominations for Council members. Ten of the nominees received the required 15 signatures of support (no more than 1/3 from the same country).
An Electronic Voting System was used for the first time for the Elections.
Of the 10 candidates for Council, the 5 that received the higher number of votes were:
· Dr. Wendy B. Macklin, United States of America
· Dr. Stephen Ferguson, Canada
· Dr. Tomoko Tashiro, Japan
· Dr. Ralf Dringen, Germany
· Dr. Daniele Filippo Condorelli, Italy
The new elected Secretary will be:
· Dr. Phil Beart, Australia
These Election Results will be officially announced at the First Council Meeting and at the General Business Meeting in Cancun 2007.
