8th Advanced School of Neurochemistry

Neurodegenerative Conditions: Causes and Cures

Valladolid, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
August 15-19, 2007

The Advanced School will be held immediately before (15-19th August) the ISN-ASN Congress at Valladolid, a small town located on the Yucatan peninsula, approximately 125 km due west of Cancun. The official title of the School is “Neurodegenerative Conditions: Causes and Cures”. The scientific focus of the School will be on the mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration and strategies for the management of these degenerative processes. During the theoretical course, outstanding scientists from all over the world will teach and discuss their topics.

Competition to attend the School was intense – there were some 135 applications from young neuroscientists and 50 have been chosen to attend the School. Students come from all corners of the globe, with approximately 50% being from South America and Mexico. Board and lodging is provided for all students, who will have the opportunity to interact with the teaching Faculty in a relaxed atmosphere.

Each student will present a poster decribing their own research and will be expected to give very brief oral presentation highlighting the key aspects of their work. All students will travel by bus back to Cancun on the morning of the 19th August to attend the 21st ISN-ASN Congress.
