SUMMARY:ISN/IBRO Joined School on Basal Ganglia and movement Disorders
DESCRIPTION:This large-scale advanced school on basal ganglia and movement disorders will take place over two weeks. The first week will focus on basics lectures of neuroanatomy\, neurochemistry and neuropharmacology and on technical workshops. We programmed 4 technical workshops: one on neuroanatomy of small mammals\, the second on behavioral tests and 6-OHDA rat model of Parkinson’s Disease\, the third on Immunohistochemistry and a last one on High Phase Liquid Chromatography. The neurochemical workshops will focus on the identification and measure of monoamines. The second week will include advanced lecture on pathophysiology of basal ganglia with strong clinical and translational research component. One day will be devoted to neurosurgery of Parkinson’s disease with deep brain stimulation at the hospital university of Rabat. Lectures on neuroethics and professional skills are also programmed together with full sessions of student oral presentations.
