Connect with the global neurochemistry community and access exclusive research, funding, and networking opportunities.
ISN membership is valid for the calendar year (January 1 - December 31) and offers several categories designed for researchers at different career stages.
Available to individuals currently enrolled as students, including those who will complete their doctoral degree in the respective year.
Available to researchers within five years of receiving their first doctoral degree.
Available to individuals with a professional or academic background in neurochemistry or related fields. Neurochemistry focuses on the molecular and biochemical processes that underlie nervous system function, including how molecules, cells, and chemical signalling shape brain activity in health and disease. Researchers, clinicians, educators, and professionals working in these areas are eligible to apply.
Available to ISN members who have been Full Members for at least 10 years and have retired from active professional duties. This category allows long-standing members to remain connected to the neurochemistry community and the Society.
If you would like to apply for Emeritus Membership, please contact the ISN Office at secretariat@neurochemistry.org.
To support global participation in neurochemistry, ISN offers membership discounts based on the World Bank income classification of a member’s country of residence.
• Upper-Middle Income Countries: 50% membership discount
• Lower-Middle and Low-Income Countries: 75% membership discount
Eligible discounts are applied automatically based on the country listed in your My ISN profile when your membership application is approved.
ISN may also waive membership dues upon request if economic conditions or currency regulations make payment a significant hardship. Requests can be submitted through the waiver form within the membership application.
Members of ISN Regional Societies are eligible for a full ISN membership fee waiver. This initiative supports collaboration across the global neurochemistry community.
If you are a member of one of the following societies, you can receive an ISN membership fee waiver by submitting proof of your regional society membership with your application:
The waiver will be applied automatically once your membership application and supporting document are approved.
