Applications for ISN membership are considered by the ISN Secretary from persons from any part of the world, who:
have a doctoral degree or are in the process of obtaining such a degree, and/or
have contributed notably to the advancement of neurochemistry and related neuroscience disciplines, and/or
have amassed a past or present record of neurochemical research through publications in refereed journals, and/or
have a reasonable prospect of continued neurochemically-oriented activities.
ISN MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND FEES (USD $)
Membership is valid for the calendar year (Jan 1st – Dec 31st)
To ensure greater accessibility, we offer membership discounts for individuals residing in countries classified as:
• Upper-Middle Income Countries – 50% discount
• Lower-Middle and Low-Income Countries – 75% discount
Eligible members will receive the discounts automatically based on the country of residence listed on their My ISN profile.
Note: Ensure your My ISN profile is updated to accurately reflect your country of residence for applicable discounts.
The original prices listed below will be automatically adjusted to reflect applicable discounts upon the approval of your membership application.
Available when you are a student and/or will finish your doctoral degree in the respective year. We require annual verification of your student status.
As proof of your current student status, we require a letter from the administration of your University/Institution or PhD supervisor stating you are a current student. Please ensure your letter is:
• Provided in English
• Written on official letterhead
• Signed and stamped with the current date
• PDF format only (maximum size 10 megabytes)
Please note that a copy of your ID card will not be accepted.
Available for up to five years after the year your first doctoral degree was awarded. We require a copy of your doctoral certificate for your first renewal as a Postdoc member.
Emeritus is available for ISN members who have been Full ISN Members for at least 10 years and have retired from active duties. If you wish to apply for this category, please contact the ISN Office at secretariat@neurochemistry.org
Are you a member of an ISN Sister Society?
If you are a loyal member of one of the ISN Sister Societies, APSN, ASN, or ESN, ISN will waive your ISN membership fee. All you have to do is attach your Sister Society membership certificate to your membership application and the fee waiver will be applied automatically once your application is approved.

Economic Fee Waiver
ISN will waive ISN membership dues on the basis of an annual request and approval if the economic condition of a member and/or currency regulations make membership payment a serious hardship. Please submit your request directly online using the waiver form available in your My ISN Account.
Applications for ISN membership fee waivers due to economical reasons will not be granted for previous years.
Benefits for continuous ISN membership
Continuous ISN membership and the personal ISN membership history will be considered for all types of ISN support (Travel Grants, Conference Committee, CAEN, Schools Initiative, etc.).
