ISN Young Scientist Lectureship Award

ISN is seeking outstanding young scientists to be nominated for this prestigious award!

HOW TO APPLY:

Step One: As nominating senior scientist and active ISN member, please sign in to your MyISN account https://www.neurochemistry.org

Step Two: After you login, you will find the YSL application form in the submission menu on the left. The YSL application form will collect general information and request that you upload, in PDF format, the following documents of your nominee:

  • full curriculum vitae of your nominee (find here what your CV should include)
  • A short description (with references) of the research accomplishments of the candidate
  • An abstract of the topic to be covered in the talk
  • nominating letter from the Head of Department or senior scientist stating why this candidate should be considered for this award

Step Three: Submit the online form and then view the accuracy of the application. You will be able to edit it until the application period closes (February 28).

ELIGIBILITY & APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Every two years, on the occasion of its Biennial Meeting, the ISN awards up to two ISN Young Scientist Lectureship Awards.

These awards recognise eminent research achievements of promising young scientists. Neurochemistry is considered in its broadest context within molecular and cellular neuroscience.

Up to two young scientists, up to 10 years after the year the doctoral degree was awarded (at the time of the proposal), may be given the ISN award consisting of an honorarium and paid trip to the ISN-ASN Meeting in Montreal, Canada from 04-08 August, 2019, where they will need to present a 30 minute lecture (including discussion).

Candidates can be proposed either by a head of the department or a senior scientist.

 

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION: 

To be eligible for this award, the applicant who is nominating must be an ISN member in good standing (membership fees paid for current year at the time of the application submission)

APPLICATION MUST CONTAIN:

  • full curriculum vitae of your nominee (find here what your CV should include) 
  • A short description (with references) of the research accomplishments of the candidate
  • An abstract of the topic to be covered in the talk
  • nominating letter from the Head of Department or senior scientist stating why this candidate should be considered for this award.

 

SELECTION PROCESS: 

The nominations will be reviewed by ISN Conference Committee.


PRIZE:

  • Full coverage of the travel costs (travel ticket based on economy travel), hotel costs (up to 5 nights), per diem allowance of USD 75 (days counting are during your stay in Montréal and full travel days). This allowance is assumed to cover all additional expenses during the meeting, including the local airport transfers in Montréal)
  • Complimentary registration fees
  • An honorarium of USD 1.000
